  • Smasher or Spoon: Use a spoon to combine the filling, and a masher to the potatoes.
  • Rolls frying pan: For frying rolls dough.
  • Slotted Spoon: For extracting rolls from the frying oil.
  • Plate with paper to soak the rolls: These will be placed on the rolls to inhibit excess oil collecting on the roll.

Ingredients
  

  • Filling ingredients makes 8 rolls:
  • 3 medium sized potatoes 1.5 – 2 cups when boiled and mashed
  • 1 optional small onion chopped into tiny pieces
  • 1 optional small green chili chopped into tiny pieces
  • Ginger paste – 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chaat masala – 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped – 1 tablespoon
  • Salt as needed
  • Cooking oil for filling – 1 tablespoon
  • Filling Materials:
  • 8 slices of white crustless bread
  • 1/2 cup of all purpose flour to prepare the batter
  • 1/2 cup of water to prepare the batter
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs to coat the rolls
  • Cooking oil to shallow/deep fry the rolls
  • Serving Materials:
  • 4 tablespoons of mint and coriander green chutney or tomato ketchup
  • Optional 2 tablespoons of tamarind chutney

  • How To Make Potato Bread Rolls
  • To prepare the potato bread rolls, this easy recipe takes around 45 minutes.

  • Rolls Preparation Instructions:
  • Cook the filling:
  • Pour 1 Tbsp of oil to a saucepan set at a mid heat if you want to prepare the potato filling. Put the ginger paste.
  • Stir onion and ginger paste. Add green chili if using it. Stir until chat patra onions are soft.
  • Stir potato,coriander powder, red chili powder, chaat masala, salt and mashed potatoes, coriander leaves and mix well before cooking the filling for around 2 minutes. Allow cooling.
  • Make the bread:
  • Gently peel crusts from bread slices. Using a rolling pin, pound slice this particular thin and soft so as to make it easy to work with.
  • Complete the rolls:
